Description
|
Your brothers-in-arms are hostages behind enemy lines, and you're their only hope for freedom. But the firepower you'll face to rescue them will be awesome. Rescue the POW's in the buildings. You'll need a pocket full of miracles, and the wild ferocity of a wild JACKAL.
Jackal is a free-roaming shooter that puts you in command of a Green Beret attack jeep. A superb job is done in making the six stages distinct from one another, and the action is fast-paced with abundant enemies. While the extra objective of rescuing hostages from prison buildings has very little bearing on gameplay (except for earning bazooka power-ups), it is a nice feature that helps immerse you into the storyline. The only real flaws are a difficulty level that rises dramatically toward the end of the game, and graphics that tend to be on the small side. These are only minor quibbles, though, and shouldn't prevent you from enjoying one of the better shooters on the platform.
